FINANCE
U.S. banking regulators intend to renew a proposal mandating big banks to defer executive compensation
and enforce tougher clawback measures for bonuses if losses arise, with six agencies working on the
plan, excluding the Federal Reserve. Moreover, equity funds saw significant outflows of $21.15 billion in
this week due to expectations of continued high interest rates. Investors sold U.S. large-cap, small-, multi-,
and mid-cap funds, while financial sector and short/intermediate investment-grade funds saw inflows. US
stocks experienced a slight downturn on Friday as investors weighed Israel's limited strike against Iran,
which was seen as symbolic and potentially de-escalatory. Despite an initial surge in oil prices, they later
declined, and the markets were also processing earnings results from US companies, including Netflix.
Lastly, Mark Zuckerberg became the third-richest person globally due to Meta stock's rise, while Tesla's
stock continued to decline following a recall announcement.
